Zakat on Farms and Fruits

Abstract

Zakat of Farming the crops and fruits is assumed to be due to the Qur›an، tradition، consensus and reason. There are special Conditions for Zakat of farming Crops and Fruits: That the farm must be the land of Aushry (one-tenth)، that something should grow from the land، and that something should have a value. Zakat is assumed to be from anything taken out of the land. The range of eligibility for paying zakat is (653 kg). The farmer has to pay 10% of his growth to the poor when the cultivation is normal from natural resources and 5% when its watered by other sources with hardship. We can pay the anything growth out the land or its price. The time the farmer should pay its Zakat is when the fruit or crops show up but it can be paid any time the fruits and corps are collected. The fruits and corps can be mixed by its type but two types of is not needed to mix for fulfilling the eligibility. Zakat is also applicable for dedicated lands. The person who is giving the lease should pay its Zakat. If it is for the benefit of the poor، the person who taking the lease should pay it zakat.
